We hope all are having a great month
of February!
Have you done anything special to

We are working closely with the folks at the County Fair Board, to try to track down the missing history documentation and pictures for the years 1949 to 1963. Unfortunately, Down County practiced segregation for many years, and for these years, there were two county fairs: the "white" county fair, and the "black" or "colored" county fair, as they were self-named. We are helping drive the effort to get those folks who worked and participated in the Black County Fairs to be honored and recognized for their work and contributions. At a minimum, we want to see the annual County Fair Catalog updated to include ALL of the past presidents of the County Fair, to have ALL of the past Queens of Tolerance proudly displayed by portrait in the County Fair auditorium, where the ladies from the Black Fair are all missing. The President of the County Fair Board, John Richards, has already edited their web page and are very willing to add in all of the missing information asap. Personally, we are very excited to get to help in this effort, and are anxious to see a successful editing of the county's history. Further, we hope that this healing project will also help heal some of the residue from this horrid practice from the past history of the county.
Let us all celebrate ALL of our past residents of Down County!
Pass it on!

As far as our fun projects of Tie Dye go, we shifted gears and have been more focused on our "regular
jobs" for the moment (semester), but will be gearing up to make more fun tie dye
around April, when the weather gets a little warmer.
We can still take special
requests, but there is a wait time (we can discuss, case-by-case) at the
moment.
We did get nice compliments on the itty bitty t-shirts that were routed to Indonesia in December as Christmas gifts -- that made us smile! Seems that the little folks don't like to take their coveted new colorful shirts off, even long enough to wash so they can wear it again, lol!
